The Cedar County Empowerment Board announced
that child care providers in Cedar County are eligible
for scholarships to pay for professional education.
The Empowerment Board administers state funds
for programs for children 0-5 years of age.  The Iowa
legislature earmarked special funds for education for
child care providers.  Applicants need to complete a
one-page application available to your left under Application
or at the public health office in the courthouse.  The
applications will be presented to the Board for approval
or disapproval at their next monthly meeting.  If approved,
providers will be reimbursed for tuition after providing
documentation of attendance and payment.  Programs
must be appropriate, applicable to child care and
obtained from either a community college or an AEA.
The Empowerment Board can be contacted at PO Box 23,
Tipton IA 52772, www.empowercedarco.org, email at
the coordinator, Rick Fleshin, at 563-886-2226.
