·        Preserve the family as the central system of support for all children.

·        Empower families to protect and support all children, while maintaining their rights, safety, and dignity.

·        Improve cooperation among the public, private, and consumer entities within the community to enhance collaboration among the health, education, and family welfare systems.

Our Vision

Our vision is based on the principals of:

The community represents all individuals working or living within Cedar County.

The family is the basic unit of support for children, therefore, the basic unit of the community.

Parents are primarily responsible for meeting the needs of their children.  The community supports the parent’s efforts to meet these needs.

To the extent that it is possible, services should be accessible to the family within the

community.

The community can best meet the needs of the families and children when health, education, and welfare services collaborate.

The families and children who receive community services should be given greater opportunities to become participants in community planning.

The health, education, and welfare systems can best meet needs when they have the flexibility and autonomy to respond to the unique characteristics of the community.
